Brimming with history, the Theatre Royal Bath is one of the oldest and most beautiful theatres in Britain.

Comprising three auditoria, the Main HouseUstinov Studio and the egg theatre for children and young people, a wonderfully varied programme of top quality entertainment is on offer all year round.

Theatre Royal Bath is on Sawclose. It is about 10 minutes walk from Bath Spa Train Station and Bath Bus Station. The entrance to the Ustinov Studio is on Monmouth Street and the egg is on St John’s Place.

Seating Plan

Due to the age and design of the building and due to the staging of some productions the Grand Circle and some seats at the sides of the auditorium may have a restricted view. There are also some seats with a pillar restricted view. An interactive seating plan is available.

Parking

There is no parking at the Theatre itself, however, there are several large car parks within walking distance of the Theatre, including Charlotte Street and Southgate. Both charge for evening parking – Southgate approx. £2 per evening, and Charlotte Street approx. £5 per evening (when last checked).

The Theatre Royal Bath can be found by following the brown tourist & pedestrian sign posts, and is no more than 10-15 minutes walk from any of the car parks listed.

Matinee audiences may wish to make use of one of the three park and ride schemes which service the City Centre from Lansdown, Odd Down and Newbridge.

All drop-off and collection points are within easy walking distance of the Theatre Royal.

Wheelchair Access

Wheelchair spaces are available in the Stalls and Royal Circle at a reduced price. Accompanying person pays half price.

There is lift access from the Theatre foyer to the Royal Circle and Stalls levels.

  • Presentation of your confirmation email as proof of purchase will be requested for all tickets collected
  • Identification will be asked for to prove eligibility for concessions.

Collecting Tickets

Pre-paid tickets are collected from the Box Office. You will be asked for your surname and the first line of your address. In some instances it may also be necessary to see the payment card. When booking tickets online you will be sent a confirmation email, please present this at the Box Office when collecting your tickets.

Postage Charge

There is a £1 postage charge for all bookings sent in the UK (£1.50 for group bookings). Tickets will be posted within the mainland UK only. Please note that tickets are posted out Monday – Friday only. Overseas bookings will be held at the Box Office.
