Bath Christmas Market is an extremely popular event in Bath’s festive calendar and for good reason! Set amongst Bath’s beautiful, historic attractions, you will find over 170 wooden chalets offering individual, often hand-crafted, gifts and delicious festive food and drink. With the crowds, wonderful aromas and Christmas decorations all around, Bath Christmas Market is a truly magical experience!
There are many other things to do in Bath whilst the market is on; such as ice skating in the Royal Victoria Park with Bath on Ice and a wonderful lantern procession from the Holburne Museum. Father Christmas and a traditional Victorian carousel can be found in Stall Street, whilst the Theatre Royal will be hosting Carols by Candlelight and the pantomime Cinderella.
With so much activity taking place in Bath we would advise visitors to plan your trip in advance. Accommodation can be very busy at the weekends during the Christmas market, and the market itself can be difficult to move around due to the crowds; particularly if you have reduced mobility or young children with you. However, during the week there is usually still availability in local accommodation (check availability here) and the market is much more accessible; meaning you can really take your time and enjoy looking at all of the beautiful stalls.
Traffic can be heavy getting into Bath during the festive season and parking in the centre limited, where possible we do recommend using the Park and Ride services being laid on, here is a guide to times and costs.
