This year, the Vitality Bath Half Marathon, or ‘Bath Half’ as it is also know, will take place on Sunday 12 March.

The marathon is one of the longest established and most popular city centre road events in the UK. Founded in 1982, the course has remained unchanged since 2006, however this year it will need to be slightly diverted around the North Quays development.

The event is the largest charity fundraiser in the South West, raising over £2.1 million for charity in 2015.

The fast and flat course is extremely popular with both beginners and veterans alike (this year should see 12,000 runners taking part). It covers a two lap 13.1 mile (21.1km) traffic-free course around both sides of the River Avon. The race will start and finish in the stunning Great Pulteney Street, right in the heart of the city of Bath.

For those taking part, please be ready in the Runners Village when the half marathon start bays open at 10.00am. The half marathon will begin at 11.00am.

There is also a Family Fun Run which will start at around 11.20am, or as soon as the half marathon runners have left the start. The course is just under one mile long from Great Pulteney Street down Pulteney Road to North Parade Road and back.
