burns night in bathBurns’ Night is the annual celebration of the life and poetry of the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns. Events are usually held around the date of the poet’s birthday, 25th January. Here are some of the Burns’ Night events taking place in Bath this year.

Sat 21st Jan – Burns’ Night – The Pump Room – NOW SOLD OUT

Starting with a drinks reception around the torch-lit Roman Baths, complete with a traditional piper. Guests will then enjoy a Burns’ Night Feast in The Pump Room with Burns’ poetry read by Leonard Pearcey. After dinner there will be a charity raffle and ceilidh dancing with Skara Brae. Sun 22nd Jan – Burns’ Night – Cloisters Restaurant, Bailbrook House

Weds 25th Jan – Burns’ Night Whisky Tasting And Dine – Ston Easton

Maria from In For Taste will be holding a whisky tasting event at Ston Easton. Maria will guide you through a selection of Scottish, Irish and American whiskies. The tasting include a presentation about the different types of whiskies, the history of whisky and why it is so popular. The evening will include a five course tasting menu prepared by Head Chef Martin Baker. Arrival time of 6.45pm, the whisky tasting will then begin at 7.00pm, followed by dinner at 8.00pm.
