We, Peter & Glenda Botes look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you to the Blue Quail Deli.
In December 2011, we moved to Bath – it was the start of our retirement, after many years in the hotel, restaurant & hospitality business. After working rather unsociable hours, we loved starting each day of our new life in Bath, without a thing on our agenda, other than discovering our way around the new city. Living just off the Pultney Bridge – every day we walked up Bridge Street – to get into the heart of Bath – and each day we passed this lovely little shop, which was empty!!
After a couple of months, we realized that there might still be life left in us! and the idea of a small shop started to formulate. We approached Carter Jonas, the agents for the lovely little shop on Bridge Street – and I guess, as they say – the rest is history.
And where does Blue Quails fit into the scheme? Previously in the Cape – we had a lovely restaurant called the African Blue Quail – so it seemed like a great idea to continue along with the trend. The African Blue Quail is prolific in the Cape – being small and being a delectable treat, we felt it just fitted in perfectly with our small new shop. We hope you’ll agree that our homebaked goods, terrines, gallette’s, pate’s, cakes, Portuguese Natas, Boccodillo Rolls, Artisan Breads and more – are all delectable too!
We hope you’ll drop in and introduce yourself – we look forward to meeting you.
