Today is the first of ten days celebrating Jane Austen! Fans from all over the world don their Regency costumes and travel to Bath for this annual festival. The first Jane Austen festival in Bath took place in September 2001 over a weekend. The festival has grown substantially since then and is a real highlight in Bath’s events calender.
Jane Austen lived in Bath for five years from her mid-twenties and used the city as a basis for her books, including attractions such as the Assembly Rooms and the Pump Rooms.
