This exciting new exhibition opens at The Fashion Museum Bath on 19th March.
The museum has selected its 100 ‘star’ objects to showcase a history of fashion from the 1600s to the present day.
One of the earliest garments on show is an intricately embroidered waistcoat worn by an aristocratic woman from the time of Shakespeare, a much later item is an embroidered jacket by Paris couturier Lucien Lelong, which was worn by ‘Gone with the Wind’ actress Vivien Leigh in 1948.
There are big fashion names featured in the exhibition; including The House of Worth – the ‘go-to’ designer in the 1890s.
