The Tricycle Theatre’s wickedly funny smash hit West End comedy. Susie Blake stars as the Queen with Kate Fahy as Mrs Thatcher.

LIZ VS MAGGIE. TEA AT FOUR. HANDBAGS AT DAWN…

Two enduring icons born in the same year. One destined to rule, the other elected to lead. But when the stiff upper lip softened and the gloves came off, which one had the upper hand?

Moira Buffini’s celebrated new comedy speculates on what the world’s most powerful women really talked about behind closed palace doors.

Following its sell-out success at London’s Tricycle Theatre, where it first premiered in 2014, Handbagged won an Olivier Award before transferring to the West End, playing to packed houses, enjoying sensational reviews and being Olivier nominated again for 2015. Be sure to bag a ticket for this wickedly funny and brilliantly astute West End smash hit comedy.

Susie Blake’s numerous television credits include Coronation StreetBorn and BredSingles and Mrs Brown’s Boys; she has appeared frequently with Victoria Wood and Russ Abbot and starred on stage in Wicked.

Moira Buffini’s work includes the acclaimed play Dinner. Her film adaptations include Posy Simmonds’s Tamara Drewe and Jane Eyre for BBC Films. She has recently written the book and lyrics for wonder.land, a new musical with music by Damon Albarn, directed by Rufus Norris.
