Bath Boules Sunday
Taking place in the heart of Bath from 14 – 16 June 2019, the much-loved and longstanding Boules tournament weekend is surrounded by some very special events which is all about having fun whilst fundraising, plus a bit of a French twist to really set the scene!
Think marquee, music, Pimms & Champagne garden, street food, bar, surprise events, games of boules, face painting, bouncy castle and more, all in the heart of Bath in sunny (we hope) June!
All proceeds are donated to local charities via the Bath Boules Trust. So for every ticket purchased, drink sipped, street food munched, raffle chanced, face painted and jump on the bouncy castle during the week you are contributing to vital causes in the area.
Every year the event raises thousands of pounds for local charities. In 2018, a staggering £50,364 was raised. Several thousand people came for fun in the sun, and more than 400 companies were involved. It is Headline Sponsored by Royds Withy King.
The festival began around 20 years ago with a mini contest of the traditional French game of boules between businesses in and around Queen Square. A lot of boules was played, and a lot of Ricard was consumed! It became an annual event and with more and more teams getting involved, it was decided to make the gathering raise money for local charities.
Fast-forward to today and the event has grown from a one-day, into a two-day, now a three-day tournament with 64 teams competing on each day, a closed-road street food market surrounding the Square and loads to do.
