Bath Cantata World War I Rememberance Concert
Bath Cantata Group
Bath Cantata Group recalls the end of World War I with a concert full of music for remembrance.
Bath Cantata World War I Rememberance Concert: Karl Jenkins’ evocative and powerful The Armed Man. A Mass for Peace leads the billing, dedicated to victims of the Kosovo crisis. Alongside this is Vaughan Williams’ Dona nobis pacem written in 1936 as a plea for peace by referring to recent wars during the growing fears of a new one. John Tavener’s Exhortation & Kohima beautifully state the familiar texts ‘They shall grow not old’ and ‘When you go home, tell them of us and say: For your tomorrow we gave our today’.
This concert promises a moving and poignant evening.
