‘Fairness and tidiness and truth are for people who’ve got what they want already.’
In their comfortable house, David is busy designing a new architectural scheme for a run-down area of South London while his wife, Jane, is doing her best to help its deprived and struggling tenants. But as Sheila becomes increasingly reliant on their support and David’s idealistic designs move inexorably skywards, the foundations start to shift. Who, exactly, is benefiting from these well-meaning ventures? And to what end?
