Independent Comedy Appreciation Society Live at Komedia
Independent Comedy Appreciation Society Live Sunday 7th – Tuesday 9th April
Your favourite niche comedy magazine present three evenings of brilliantly absurd delights, showcasing the rising stars of the UK comedy circuit!
Sunday 7th April
Frank Foucault: The Desk (Work in Progress)
Known for his bizarre acts and surreal comedy style, Frank Foucault received a string of critical praise for his recent Edinburgh Fringe show, ‘Shoes’. He will be performing a work-in-progress version of his next show, ‘The Desk’, covering love, ego, death, and James Corden.
“Baffling and daring” ★★★★ – Broadway Baby
“Stupidly funny” – Chortle
The Delightful Sausage
Yorkshire’s finest meat-themed double act return with another helping of technicolour nonsense.
“Very smart writing” – The Guardian
“The most grotesquely funny, inbred version of a Northern English town since The League of Gentlemen” – The Scotsman
Monday 8th April
Joz Norris
Joz Norris is dead… or possibly retired. Now Mr Fruit Salad, a fictional persona created by Joz as a form of self-care, has developed autonomy and decided to put on a solo show. An absurdist meditation on anxiety and grief, the show sold-out at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2018.
“An absolute idiot… Simple, silly and screamingly funny” – Fest
“A comedy legend” – To Do List
Siblings
Character comedians and real life sisters Maddy and Marina Bye are back, physically bigger and mentally smaller than ever before. After two years of sell-out shows they present their third, completely absurd sketch show, but this time with a murder mystery twist…
“Genius… Silly humour with a clever twist” ★★★★★– Broadway Baby
“Wonderfully absurd and very very funny” ★★★★★ – Scottish Field
Tuesday 9th April
Elf Lyons
An award-winning comedian, chameleon, writer and theatre maker, Elf Lyons’ solo show ‘Swan’ was nominated for the Best Show Award at the Edinburgh Fringe 2017. Think big, think weird and (most importantly), think funny.
“Expert clowning that’s by turns charming, silly, touching and catastrophic” – The Times
“Lyons has genuine funnybones – a surprisingly rare commodity even in comedy” -Chortle
Peter Fleming
Winner of the Best Debut Award at Leicester Comedy Festival 2018, join Peter on his nationwide quest to find all your favourite childhood TV shows, and his family if there’s time left over at the end.
“Extraordinary comic” – Manchester Evening News
“A delightfully unusual character” – The Skinny
