NEEDLE PUNCH WORKSHOP
Are you looking forward to those cosy, autumnal nights so you can get crafty? But not interested in fiddling around with dropped stitches in knitting?! Why not come and learn the technique of punch needle embroidery!
Needle punching or punch needling, is a craft which involves using a hollow needle to push wool through fabric forming a series of loops. The density of the loops keeps the wool in place meaning there is no need for knots or glue. It’s a modern take on a traditional craft which was originally centred around making rugs. Now the technique is used to make a whole range of different textile items including wall hangings, cushion covers and bags.
The workshop is great for beginners as all the fabric stretching and frame making will be done for you so you can get on and punch your very own wall hanging. You can choose from one of Sara’s designs or come with an idea of your own – nothing too detailed. All materials will be included and there will be wool available for you to take away and finish your project. Feel free to bring your own wool stash if there’s something you would particularly like to use. Wool needs to be thick, chunky, bulky or aran to fit in the needle! As one in a small group of 6 you will have lots of Sara’s time and attention to make it just right ready to hang on that door at home.
Refreshments are included in the cost.
Please note that places on our workshops are non-refundable but are transferrable to a friend. We will post a voucher (as pictured) to you when you purchase so you can give as a gift or buy the place for yourself.
