If you’re looking to do something special this Mother’s Day, why not head to Bath? Whether your mum is into a traditional afternoon tea, a walk around some beautiful countryside, a spot of shopping or would love to spend a day being pampered, you’ll find it all and much more in Bath.
For those of you thinking of getting away, here are five suggestions of things you can do in Bath for Mother’s Day.
- Have a fantastic foodie experience
If your mum has a fine taste in food then Bath is a great place to visit. Not only will you have the chance to sample a freshly made breakfast with menus created from locally sourced ingredients from your accommodation, but the city centre is full of wonderful, award-winning restaurants and cafes, including the historic Pump Rooms, as well as recognisable chains. Mum’s can also take part in cookery workshops and lessons in the town, sample amazing street food and of course try some traditional Bath food like the Sally Lunn Bunn.
- Spend time in the great outdoors
Bath is surrounded by beautiful countryside, so for anyone with a mum that loves being outside you have plenty of options. Not only are there parks and gardens within the city for you to enjoy, there is the Skyline, walking trails along the Kennet and Avon Canal and trails into the Cotswolds. There are even chances to ride boats along the river and on the outskirts of the city you’ll find horse riding, cycle tracks and more.
- Take in some culture
Culturally Bath is a real gem, not only for the historical architecture and the abundance of fascinating hotels but also for the art and live music scene. Head to venues such as Moles and Komedia for live performances or visit the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey or the Jane Austen Centre. The Theatre Royal is a great place to catch amazing touring theatre productions and places like the Little Theatre are home to independent cinema and more. You’ll also find the American Museum, the Fashion Museum, art galleries and even science exhibits, so whatever you are interested in, you’re well covered.
- Visit a spa
Now, you can’t really go to one of the most famous spa towns in the world with your mum for Mother’s Day and not look into having a spa day can you? Bath is home to the Thermae Bath Spa, which uses the traditional hot springs, as well as a number of other spas and establishments offering various beauty treatments and pamper packages.View this post on Instagram
