A great tradition providing hospitality for over 150 years, within walking distance of all of Bath’s leading attractions.

The Royal first opened as a hotel in 1846 and has been owned by the present owners since 1995. During this time there has been an ongoing programme of renovation and improvements to ensure that this lovely property, which was designed by Brunel, is well maintained and provides attractive facilities for our many guests.

Our newly refurbished restaurant, the Brasserie Brunel, offers casual dining in a French style brasserie setting, with a menu to match. The menu features French specialities, together with grills, including the steaks for which we are renowned. Wherever possible our food is sourced locally, and the majority of dishes are freshly produced.

Our menu represents excellent value for money, and in addition, as members of the Bath Independent Hospitality Association, we offer 20% off all food, on presentation of the Somerset and Bath Reward Card (given to all our guests on booking). Click here to see more offers available with the Reward Card.

Both bars feature real ales in addition to a full range of other drinks including a wide selection of wines by the bottle and glass, and lagers.
