The Yeo Valley Organic Garden re-opens its gates to visitors

Stay in Bath > News > Uncategorised > The Yeo Valley Organic Garden re-opens its gates to visitors

The Yeo Valley Organic Garden in Blagdon, Somerset, will reopen its garden gates for another spectacular season of scents and colours on Wednesday 27th April, 10am – 5pm. Yeo Valley is 40 minutes from Bath.

In celebration of Yeo Valley Organic’s successful appearance at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, where they won a RHS Gold Medal and the People’s Choice Award, visitors will be able follow the NEW ‘Chelsea Trail’ to see different elements that inspired and played a pivotal part in the award-winning show garden.

Head Gardener at Yeo Valley Organic and creator of the Yeo Valley Organic Garden, Sarah Mead says: “The RHS Chelsea Flower Show was a highlight of 2021, we were thrilled to win a RHS gold medal but absolutely beside ourselves when we won the People’s Choice award. We have reintroduced prominent components of our Chelsea show garden back to the real Yeo Valley Organic Garden that inspired it all.”

In the lead up to the new season, the Yeo Valley Organic gardening team has been busy preparing the new ’Chelsea Trail’ with plants, boulders, charcoal walls and of course the steam-bent egg-shaped wooden hide, designed and created by Cornish sculptor Tom Raffield, being returned from SW3.

Sarah continues: ”Now, we want to continue our journey of highlighting the importance of looking after nature, gardening organically and the health of our soils.”

Surrounded by the Mendip Hills, the 6.5 acres ornamental garden at Yeo Valley Organic’s family farm in Blagdon, North Somerset, is just a stone’s throw from central Bristol.  The Yeo Valley Organic Garden is one of only a handful of ornamental gardens that is Soil Association accredited. It showcases how choosing organic and taking small steps to work with nature, makes a positive impact on wildlife and plant biodiversity. It offers plenty of ideas on how gardeners can give nature a helping hand in their own gardens.

Tickets are available to pre-order with 2-hour slots. Spring bulbs will be flowering in drifts throughout the garden, the blossom will be in full swing. Some of the garden team will also be on hand to answer any questions.

The tearoom will be serving drinks and snacks, offering visitors a warm welcome after their stroll around the garden. Finally, the garden shop will be open to read up on Yeo Valley’s Road to Chelsea Journey and to stock up on dairy treats.
