Bath is a beautiful city to visit but you might find yourself getting a little overwhelmed when you arrive – what should you prioritise to look at? Well, that’s where we come in, here are five things to prioritise on your visit to Bath.
-
Go to the Royal Crescent
We do have some amazing properties right near the crescent if you fancy staying near this iconic landmark, but regardless of where you stay, you must visit. The entire half moon row of houses is made from glorious Bath stone from nearby quarries. The row of townhouses overlooks the green and Victoria Park. Either walk up to take a look by going through the park or hop on the open top bus and view it from the top!
-
Visit the Roman Baths
This is probably the attraction you’ll have heard the most about, the building houses a Roman spa and you can take a walk among the remains, learn more about the Roman invaders and see artefacts from the time. There is a free audio player to explain more about the entire complex and hearing about the amazing natural warm springs is fascinating. Part of the tour includes the chance to venture underneath the modern streets.
-
Visit the Jane Austen Centre
Jane Austen was a frequent visitor to Bath when it was a fashionable Regency town. She lived in the city from 1801 to 1806 and her novels Northanger Abbey and Persuasion are based here. In the city centre is the Jane Austen Centre, where you can learn all about the great writer. The visitor centre comes complete with costumed guides.

Try a Bath Bun
You can’t come to Bath and not eat a Bath Bun, luckily, Sally Lunn’s Historic Eating House is ready to introduce you to the original Bath Bun. The original Sally Lunn Bath Bun is a bit different to the sweet treat you might be used to. If you like, you can also grab a London style Bath Bun when you’re visiting. Even if you’re not eating, it is still worth a visit, the house is the oldest in Bath!

Bath Abbey is a beautiful building and is right in the middle of the city, so you can’t miss it. If you’re into your photography, make sure to stop by when night falls. The abbey lights up and is really something to look at!
